Lydia Prado named 9News Leader of the Year

At their Leading Colorado Luncheon, Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation named Dr. Lydia Prado, Executive Director of Lifespan Local, as the 9News Leader of the Year. Voting was open to the public and more than 2,500 people participated in making the selection.

“This is a tremendously meaningful honor because it acknowledges and uplifts neighborhood-based, community-fueled leadership. We cultivate strong communities when we see strengths in each other, learn from each other and build promising futures together, across those boundaries that have historically and structurally limited creative, ingenious people. We cannot change inequities and injustice alone, it’s time to cast a very wide net,” said Prado in a news release from the Chamber.

David Miller, CEO of the Barton Institute, shared his enthusiasm for the selection. “Lydia never wants or seeks this type of recognition, but it’s important to recognize and encourage her approach to building community.”
